Obituary of Michael Ashton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael on February 13, 2018 surrounded by our loving family. Cherished husband to Cheryl with whom he shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Beloved father to Shaun and wife Kari, Shannon and husband Art Glen and Melissa. Proud Grandpa to Maddox, Zayden, Reid, Brock, Drew and Willa. Dear brother to Jackie and husband Rick, Eileen and husband Paul, Maureen and husband Paul, and Kathleen and husband Norm. Predeceased by parents George and Doreen Ashton. Michael will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues and friends. Michael retired from Ford Canada after a 32-year career. He was a retired member of the Tecumseh Fire Department where he dedicated 16 years of service. Michael was proud to serve the Tecumseh area, and he cherished the memories he made with his team. A special thank you to the Paramedics, the Tecumseh Fire Department, and the emergency room medical team at Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus and Ouellette Campus for their care and compassion. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East 519-253-7234 on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 2:00 pm " 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm " 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of Michael"s Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow. In memory of Michael, memorial donations can be made to the Trillium Gift of Life Foundation.
