Obituary of Richard Joseph Lavin

Passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 72. Lovingly adored by his "supportive" wife Janet (nee Jessop) of 51 years. Remembered always by his loving children Ken (Shellie), Paula (Mike) Bujak, Sheri (Shannon) McTavish and his cherished grandkids Chris, Jamie, Miranda, Courtney and Sydney. Richard was born to the late Tom and Audrey Lavin and is survived by his siblings Ursi (Gil) Mathers, late John (2005) (Theresa) Lavin, Pat (late Bev (2012)) (Patricia) Lavin, Joann Deroy, late Betsy (2012) (Terry) Whyte, late Paul (1984) Lavin, Margaret Lavin, Dan (Nina) Lavin as well as many nieces and nephews. Dick was a life long member and Usher of St. Anne"s Parish. He found his calling later in life as an Auctioneer and enjoyed donating his time for various charities. Many in the community will remember him for his passion for anything on wheels. He took great pride in his family, yard and home, always loving to dance on his toes and being the life of the party. A special thank you to Dr. Coughlin and Dr. Elalem as well as the nurses on 6th Floor West and the staff in ICU at WRH " Ouellette Campus for your care and compassion. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2-5 and 6-8pm with Parish Prayers at 3:30pm. Family and Friends are invited to gather directly at St. Anne"s Parish (12233 Tecumseh Rd. E) on Thursday, February 1, 2018 for visitation from 9:30am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Burial to follow at St. Anne"s Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Transition to Betterness or W.E. Care for Kids would be appreciated by his family.
