MAURIZIO, NicholasWith heavy hearts we must announce the passing of dear Nick on January 26, 2018 at the age of 91. Predeceased by his parents Gaudenzio and Clementina and his brother James. He will never be forgotten by his beloved wife of 31 years Elizabeth (nee Lesperance) and loving children Carol Maurizio, Sheila Hamm (Victor) and step children Michelle Bruce (Kevin) and Michael Glovasky (Barb). Devoted grandpa, papa and nonno to Dina (Curtis), Shayne (Laurie), Bree (Rob), Jenelle (Fern), Emma, Owen and great grandpa to Nickolas, Brody, Malaya, Cami and Chace. Remembered fondly by his sisters Josephine Pastorious and Amalia Maurizio as well as his sibling-in-laws. cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Nick served in the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII and lived a full and joyous life as a sports enthusiast, a true patriotic historian, traveling and spending time with his beloved family who never tired of his endless stories. Nick loved thoroughbred racing and visited many race tracks in North America. He loved the ponies!Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E 519-253-7234 on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 10:15am from the Funeral Home to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave.) for his Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If you so desire, donations to the Canadian War Museum would be appreciated. Condolences may be left at www.windsorchapel.com
