Obituary of Antonio Moresco

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Dec 27 at the age of 89.Cherished husband of 66 years to Mafalda (Alessi). Loving father to Bianca Bevacqua (Joe), Marga Pomponio (John), Mike (Lori, predeceased ) and Catherine. He was a devoted Nonno to David (Stephanie), James (Alison) and Sara Pomponio and Scott and Sean Brown (Rachelle). He will be missed by his beautiful great-granddaughters Mariyka and Ruby. Dearest brother to Gianna (Cesco, predeceased), Mari (Silvano , predeceased), Gianni (Carol) and Izetta (Giorgio). Beloved uncle to Greta and Luciano Ferraro (both predeceased ), Sergio Fiorese (Lina) Michael Ferraro (Helen) and many other nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many dear friends. Antonio was born in Italy, immigrating to Canada in 1955, followed by his young family in 1956. When in Italy, he served in the Alpini Regiment. In Canada, he was an active member of the Caboto Club for over 40 years, volunteering whenever and wherever he was needed. At St. Angela Merici Church, he served as an usher for over 50 years. An avid gardener, Dad always competed with his neighbours to grow the biggest and best tomatoes, zucchini and peaches. And, nothing compared to his spectacular rose garden. Dad lived his last few years at the Village of St. Clair in the Colchester and Gosfield neighbourhoods. Our thanks to the many staff members who took great care of our Dad and showed our Mom, compassion and understanding. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E 519-253-7234 on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm with Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Antonio"s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:15am from the Funeral Home to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave, Windsor) for His Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Dad, you will be greatly missed but you will live on in our hearts forever.
