Obituary of Mario Mazzara

Born January 27, 1926 in Custonaci, Trapani, Sicily. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 21, 2017 at the age of 91. Reunited with his dear wife of 30 years, Vincenza (nee Ciaravino, 1980) and son Frank (2017). Survived by his wife of 33 years, Caterina (nee Giustiniani). Cherished father to Rosanna Ruggirello and husband Giuseppe, Josie Lizotte and late husband Mike (2012), Carmela Krautner and husband Gord, and daughter in law Eleanor. Dear step father to Enza Crain and husband Lloyd and Bridget Lahoud and husband Tony. Proud Nonno to 11 grandchildren and Bis-Nonno to 12 great grandchildren. Survived by his brothers Vincenzo Mazzara and wife Caterina and Andrea Mazzara and wife Anna, all of Sicily, Italy. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mario retired from Chrysler in 1989 after 25 years of dedicated service. The family would like to thank Kensington Court, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, CCAC, and all of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Hospice of Windsor Essex and WRH palliative care for all the care and compassion shown to Mario. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234 on Friday November 24, 2017 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30 pm. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday November 25, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Funeral Home, then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at St. Alphonsus. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mario may be made to the Hospice of Windsor Essex or the Canadian Cancer Society (Windsor).
