Obituary of Ian William Smith

May 19, 1953 " November 18, 2017It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ian, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend to Geraldine (nee Chevalier) for over 30 years. Proud father to Jessica and his fur babies Mozart and Satie. Brother to Jenifer Amlin (Jerry) and Linda Bourdeau (Ron). Son-in-law to Bernice Chevalier (late Gerald). Brother-in-law to Ron (Carm), Doug, Don (Rose), Rob, Ken (Laurie) and the late Dan. Predeceased by parents William and Mary (nee Young). Ian will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, friends and his coffee buddies. Ian recently retired from Mettler Toledo after working 34 gratifying years with an amazing group of co-workers and associates. A special thank you to Dr. Kevin Fung and his wonderful team, Myles from VON, and the Hospice of Windsor Essex County. The family would also like to acknowledge all the love and support from Lakeshore St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9pm. Visiting will continue on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at Lakeshore St. Andrew's (235 Amy Croft Drive) from 10am until time of Celebration of Life at 11am.
