When I was a young boy with aspirations to be a professional footballer, my Uncle Jim was my idol. Some of my favourite memories are of the times that I stayed at his house the night before matches when he was the player coach with Greenock Morton. Some of the players would also stay, and my uncle would let me stay up later than I should, to sit quietly in the corner and watch/listen to them playing cards, having a couple of beers and sharing football banter. It was magic. I was sad when he moved to Canada , but I know how happy he was in Windsor. It was also especially good to see him in later years when he came back to Greenock for a couple of visits to see his family. A larger than life personality, great company, and a special uncle Brian, Lorna , Jack & Ross Davidson x
