Obituary of Ernesto Castanares
It is with sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ernesto on November 2, 2017, one day shy of his 74th birthday. Beloved husband of Romana with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Cherished father to Erma Goulet and to Ellen and husband Edwin Maravilla. Proud Lolo to Jasmin, Jordon, Alexis and Ashley. Survived by sister Delia and husband Juanito Novicio and sister-in-law Isabelle Castanares. Cherished uncle to Carmen, Tito, Marc and Joy Caumeran, Maggie Castanares. He will be missed and remembered by the Cheung family, Adamos family, Danlayon family, Lumacad family, Castanares family, Novicio family, The Mahjong Group and extended family in the Philippines and close friends in Windsor. Ernesto was a generous family man who was quiet and reserved, but loving. He was proud of his grandchildren, and would often tell stories of his love for them. During the spring and summer, he enjoyed gardening. A true handyman, he would always be the first to help out with home improvement projects and offer his advice. Ernesto will be remembered for his passion of watching sports while solving Sudoku puzzles. Friends and family are invited to visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Road, East (519-253-7234) on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00 pm " 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm " 9:00 pm. Parish prayers to take place at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Anne"s Parish (Tecumseh), 12233 Tecumseh Road, East on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 10:30 am until time of funeral mass at 11:30 am. Burial to follow at St. Anne"s Cemetery. In kindness, and for those who wish, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
