Obituary of Vlado Sobol

SOBOL, Vlado "Walter"It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Vlado on October 4, 2017 at his home, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Marica "Mary" (nee Lorkovich), with whom he celebrated 43 remarkable years of marriage. Loving and devoted father of Paul and Joseph (Dawn). Cherished Nono to Abigail and Madeline whom he adored and loved spending time. Vlado was born in Hreljin, Primorje, Croatia on September 29, 1951. One of five siblings, he is survived by Branko (Gordana), Radimir (Milena), Mira (Vlado) and Josipa (Miljenko) and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Croatia and United States. Dear son in-law to Kata Lorkovich and brother in-law to Mira (Dan) and John (Fran) and their families. Vlado was a retired employee of Chrysler Canada with 35 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful parishioner and usher at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. He also enjoyed to play bocce ball and bowl with his many friends in the community. Vlado will be held dearly in the hearts of his family, relatives and friends. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kanjeekal, Dr. Burgess and all the healthcare providers at the Windsor Regional Cancer Program and CCAC for their compassionate care provided to Vlado and his family. Friends will be received at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers Friday at 8 pm. Funeral Service on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 9 am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Vlado's life, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund or Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
