Obituary of Mary Maria Rapsky

Peacefully at her home, with dignity and her daughter by her side on Saturday morning of August 26, 2017. Mary Maria Rapsky (nee Tyahla), of R.R. #4, Tara and formerly of Windsor, at the age of 94 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Joseph Rapsky. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Evelyn Loaring and her husband Peter. Dear sister of Julie Breschuk and her late husband Lee and loving aunt of Jim Breschuk (Sharon), Andrew Breschuk (Linda) and Michael Breschuk (Janine), all from Windsor, Caroline Herman of Alban and Peter Daypuk (deceased). Mary lived with her daughter Evelyn and her husband Peter near Owen Sound for the past 14 years. She was known to be generous, caring and a hard worker. For those who worked with her in her final days, she was respected as someone who never gave up and kept trying to do her best. Her family ties were important. She cherished her relationship with her sister Julie and her nephews Jim, Andy, Mike and her niece Caroline. Although she could not see them often, they were always in her heart. One of her favourite pastimes was to drive to Owen Sound in her Ford Focus for shopping, lunch and to chat with the various retailers that she got to know over the years. She loved to keep busy and always found things to do around the house. She loved gardening and if she could, would eat hot dogs every day. A heartfelt thank you goes to Marilyn Bloomfield, for her continued support for 14 years and belief in Mary made it possible for her to return and stay in her home after her surgery recovery in hospital. Also, thank you to Rachael McCartney, Dixie Ericksen, Marilyn Martin, Ruth Barefoot and Amanda Rule who provided quality care for Mary and who stood by her throughout her journey. Special thanks to Dr. Eric Barker who advocated for Mary and the C.C.A.C. for their resources. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.
