Obituary of Carolina DiGirolamo

DIGIROLAMO, Carolina<br/>July 17, 1936-October 11, 2020<br/>It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolina, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on October 11, 2020. Beloved wife to Domenico DiGirolamo with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Loving and devoted mother to Delia Berardi (Antonio), Francesco (Diana), and Pietro Antonio (Berry). Cherished Nonna to Gino (Elizabeth), Daniela (Dexter), Anthony, Michael (Caitlynne), Ivana (Gregorio), Amanda, and great grandmother to Carson. Dear sister to Pasquale Colarossi (Maria), Mario Colarossi (Iole), Maria Berardi (late Egidio), and Carlo Colarossi (Adelina). Dear sister-in-law to Teresa (late Antonio Mosca), Luigi (Lucia), Giuseppina (late Gabriele Mascioli), Francesca (Alfonzo Fagianini), and Silvana. Loving Aunt/Zia to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Carolina was an active member of St. Angela Merici Church where she sang in the Church Choir for over 30 years, was a member of the Jesu Della Ascolto (Jesus the Listener) group, and participated in other volunteer activities. Carolina was a kind, gentle, and selfless soul who always put her family and friends first. She lovingly tended to her garden, was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She made many wonderful meals and served her gentle wisdom and advice in her “ufficio” (kitchen). She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A heartfelt thank you to the Emergency doctors and nurses at Metropolitan Hospital and 4th floor Oncology nurses Kim and Heidi for their compassionate care. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Thursday October 15, 2020 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Thursday at 4:30pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 16, 2020 at 8:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home, then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass on at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Masks are required at Visitation, Church and Cemetery. Reservations are required to attend the Funeral Mass.
