Obituary of Donna Hume
Donna Ann (McKillop) Hume, Our friend and our Mom, passed away peacefully at the tender age of 86, June 25, 2017, at Heron Terrace Nursing Home in Windsor Ontario.Mom was born in Windsor Ontario October 20,1931 to Donald and Frances McKillop, joining her siblings, James (Jim) McKillop, Frances (McKillop) Arbour, Ruth (McKillop) James. Mom often told us stories from her younger days of enjoying long drives in the country with her brother in his sports car, spending long hot summer days at the cottage on Lake St. Clair, the Windsor Scottish Bakery her parents owned and ran for a number of years on Wyandotte St., and many other stories of friends and family. Windsor, her family, and her friends left an indelible bright spot in Moms heart for her entire life. Mom and Dad (Thomas Donald (Don) Hume, December 16, 1930 " November 9, 2008, met in Detroit, fell in love and were married in 1954 and spent the next 54 years together. They had four children, lived in Oakville Ontario, Fort Frances Ontario, Thunder Bay Ontario, Toronto Ontario, and Winnipeg Manitoba. During those years we all grew up, married and brought Mom and Dad nine grandsons!Mom loved to ready and was an avid hockey fan, and thought it was shameful if you couldn"t give her your opinion on current Canadian politics, a responsibility of all Canadians to know your government. She was a very kind, generous woman, with a very good heart. She was a great Mom, a wonderful friend, just a great girl all around and we will all miss her very much.Mom was pre-deceased by all of her family of origin and by our Dad. Although she loved us all profoundly it was time for her to join those others tha she so dearly missed for so long. We are so grateful she was able to stay with us as long as she did, and, we will look forward to seeing her again when our time comes, God willing.Mom leaves behind her children and children by and of marriage, David Hume, his lovely wife TeresaMcCrory Hume and son Kyle, Ann Hickey and wonderful husband Paul Hickey and sons Steven, Sean, Ryan and wife Justina, Josh, and Jake, Janet Capazzolo and sons Taylor and wife Sarah, and Frazer, Mike Hume and lovely wife Marnie, and son Harmon. Mom was also blessed with four great grandchildren, Ayden Lee and Emily, and Aakasha and Austen.Mom"s favorite charities were Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Arthritis Society, and your local Humane Society. We thank you in advance for your consideration of any memorial donation in our Mom"s name.
