Obituary of Marta Bodnar

Marta Bodnar, born October 20, 1918, in Balychi, Ukraine, died peacefully on August 18, 2017, in Ridgetown, Ontario. Daughter of the late Reverend Jurij and Evhenia (Skitsko) Bodnar. Predeceased by her loving husband Emil Salamon and sister Maria Popadiuk (Lialia). Survived by her dear sister Irene Zeleney. Will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Having fled Ukraine before the end of the Second World War, Marta emigrated to Canada in 1949. A special thanks go out to the caring staff of the Village on the Ridge in Ridgetown, Ontario. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave 519-253-7234 on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 7 " 9pm. Panakhyda at 8pm. Family and friends will be received at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church (601 Lake Trail Drive " Southwood Lakes, east of Howard Ave) on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, for the Order of Burial at 10am, officiated by Rev. Fr. Tom Hrywna. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Marta may be made to Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church in Windsor, or to a charity of your choice.
