Obituary of Danile Cetra

CETRA, Danile “Dan” December 29, 1935 – January 11, 2020 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Danile, a loving Husband, Father and Nonno on January 11, 2020. Beloved husband to Lillian (nee Buccella) with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Loving and devoted father to Cesare “Chez” Cetra, Josie Giachini (Ernie). Cherished Nonno to Kristopher, David and Joey. Dear brother to Giuseppe Cetra (Marisa). Dear brother-in-law to Lucy Buccella, Silvana Svizzero(2001) and surviving husband Aldo, Sergio Buccella (Marion). Loving uncle “Zio” to Ginessa McColl (Brent), Antonio “Tony” Cetra (Eva), Andrew Cetra (Maria), Maria Mathews (Costa), Laura Vidler (Ryan), Carolyn Wright (Scott), Lisa Attard (Jesse). Dan was a retired employee with the Windsor Board of Education/Greater Essex County District School Board with 29 years of dedicated service. Dan was a quiet, kind and gentle soul. He was very active and loved the outdoors, especially tending to his vegetable garden in his backyard. Family was very important to Danile. He was a loving and proud father whose children could do no wrong, and his grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. Dan will be sadly missed by his family, relatives and friends, as his imprint touched the hearts of all that had the opportunity to know him. He will be forever remembered and never forgotten. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, 3rd Floor ICU for their compassionate care provided to Danile and his family. Visititaion at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday at 4p.m. Funeral services on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 8:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave.) for Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Danile, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to W.E. Care for Kids.
