Obituary of Rita Houston

HOUSTON, Rita (Nee Sasso)It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. Rita passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 6, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Loving wife and best friend of Alan Houston. Loving and devoted mother of Patricia Riviere (Frederic), Jim Houston (Lorrie), and Jennifer Tessier (Jeff). Adored grandmother of Sarah, Julia, Duncan, Emily, and Jacob. Beloved daughter of the late Amelia (Valente) Sasso (1982) and Pasquale (1981) Sasso. Beloved sister of Mary Slater (1990), Alfred Sasso (1991), Beatrice Bertoia-Evola, Patrick Sasso, Nina Young, and Joseph Sasso. She will be warmly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Rita was a retiree of The Windsor Star. Visitation will be at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3200 Woodland Ave., Windsor from 10:30am until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
