NOVELLETTO, Filomena Teresa (nee IONA)Passed away peacefully, at the age of 78, on April 27, 2017 with her family by her side. Born August 23rd, 1938 in Cropani, Catanzaro, Italy. Daughter of Paolo Iona (1939) and Rosa Iona (2011). Beloved wife of Egidio Novelletto. Loving mother of Pietro Novelletto, Emmanuele Novelletto & Teresa (Paonessa), David Novelletto & Grace (Prestia) and Paolo Novelletto & Dianna (Minardi). Loving Grandmother of Nicolas, Sara, Natassia, Sabrina, Lillianna and Anthony Novelletto. Sister-in-law to Domenico Novelletto (2007) and Giovanna, Mario Novelletto and Giovanna, Angelo Dalla Palma (2006) and Gilda (2010), Gino Grando (1988) and Lidia (2014). Beloved niece of Domenico Giannotti (1985) and Maria (1992). Beloved cousin of Teresa Cirino (1997), Giovanni Giannotti (2007), Sebastiano Giannotti (2010), Antonietta Cimino, Giuseppe Giannotti, Concetta Longo, Anna Macri, Vince Giannotti. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews in Canada, and Italy. Filomena was a talented seamstress, making countless wedding dresses and bridal party gowns for many decades. She was a founding member of the Italian-Canadian HandiCAPABLE Association, devoting her time to providing opportunities for children with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities. She was a devoted member of the St. Angela Merici Church as a liturgical reader, choir member and volunteer. She was a member of the "Terziari Francescani", the Association of San Padre Pio, and The Catholic Women"s League. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Italian Canadian HandiCAPABLE Association or Transition 2 Betterness would be greatly appreciated by the family. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd.E. 519-253-7234 on Sunday April 30,2017 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Service on Monday May 1, 2017 at 8:45am from the funeral home then to St.Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30am.
