I was one of Zane's classmates in St. Clair College. I arrived in Canada from Brazil in September, just a week before class. Zane was one of the first persons to offer support and a good talk over a cup of coffee. He was kind, and truly attentive. He asked about my country, my job (I was also a journalist), and I could tell that he was really listening. On Thanksgiving day, he cooked for us, for me and other Brazilian classmate. We had never had a Thanksgiving dinner, and when he learned that he said he would cook a whole menu for us. And he did. It was one of the best days here. Now I learned that his acts of kindness towards us were not an exception. This was how Zane was, with everybody. I feel really blessed to have met him during my life.
