Obituary of Michela Mazzara

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Royal Oak Kingsville on April 9, 2017 at the age of 97 years. Michela is now reunited with her late husband, Leonardo (1949). Loving mother to Leonardo and wife Annita. Cherished Nonna to Leonardo and husband Carl, and Salvatore and wife Jessica. Adored Bisnonna to Gabriella and Lucas. She will be sadly missed by all of her family in Sicily. Michela dedicated her life to raising her son, for which he will be forever grateful, and enjoyed watching her grandsons grow up into wonderful young men. She was an avid seamstress, crocheting and loved to sing. She will be remembered for being a strong and hardworking woman and that is what helped her through her life"s challenges.The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Royal Oak Nursing Home for their care and compassion over the years. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E, 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Friends and family are to gather directly at on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St.) for 10:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 11am. In honour of Michela"s wishes, she will be entombed in her hometown of Calatafimi, Sicily. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any donations to be made to Canadian Diabetes Association.
