Obituary of James Kalman Schroll
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim on March 16, 2017 at the age of 91. Jim has now been reunited with his beloved Liisa (2011). Dear son of the late James Elsworth and Susan Suie Schroll. Loving father of Liisa Ryan (Don), Sheila Lockhart (David) and Jim (Bonnie). Adored grandpa to Scott, Jennifer, Dana, Sarah, and Jarrod. Dear great-grandpa to Emma, Victoria, Khye, Maeve, Audrey and Adelaide. Jim was a proud retired firefighter for the City of Windsor for 30 years. At the time of his retirement in 1986, he was District Fire Chief for the City. Jim was also a founding member of the City of Windsor Senior Slo-Pitch Baseball League. He was a key organizer of the Windsor Firefighters Field Day Festival held for many years at Jackson Park and a longtime Royal Canadian Legion member. Jim will always be remembered as a hardworking, kind, generous man. He lived his life with integrity, honesty and commitment to service for others. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the EMS workers for their professional assistance and support. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave, 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from Noon until time of Words of Remembrance at 12:30pm.
