Obituary of Ernest Edwin McCrone

McCrone, Ernest "Ed" Passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family on January 21, 2017 at the age of 73 years. Loving father to Ernie Jr. and Lisa (Gerry) Clark. Cherished Grandpa to Kaillee, Kolton, Kaytlynn McCrone and Devon Clark. Loving brother to Cathy "Doreen" and husband Tom Barker, sister-in-law Sandra McCrone, and brother-in-law Tex Natress. Predeceased by his parents, Agnes and William McCrone, siblings, Patsy Natress, William "Bill" McCrone, and daughter-in-law Kim McCallum-McCrone. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be sadly missed by his furry cat companion, Happy. Ed spent his career as a Denture Therapist proudly owning McCrone Denture Therapy Clinic for 45 years. One of his greatest accomplishments in the denture field was being part of a group who changed legislation to allow Denture Therapists to practise on their own without the supervision of a Dentist, thereby lowering the costs of dentures for the elderly. The family would like to extend out a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Emara Centre, 3South and all of the friends and family members who have visited and supported him through his battle.
