Obituary of Theodore Ntahonsigaye
NTAHONSIGAYE, Theodore
January 1, 1970-September 17, 2020
We are deeply saddened to share the news of Theodore Ntahonsigaye’s tragic accident on Thursday, September 17th, 2020. Nevertheless, we are also rejoicing that he entered Glory to meet his Lord and Saviour. Even in death, Theodore showed his inner-strength and character by helping a young man who had been involved in an accident ahead of him. He single-handily carried the wounded driver on his shoulder in an attempt to take him out of harms way, when the two of them were hit by an oncoming car. Both of them died at the scene. Is it any wonder that the news articles called him “the good Samaritan”? Beloved husband of Christine Nsabimana, precious and adored father of Jordy Thierry Ndibanje (21), Sentiana Akimana (19), Doriane Karorero (Charles), Jean-Marie Ndibanje (Christa) and Don Cham Ingabire. Dear brother of Scholastique Niyongere, Joseph Ndibanje , Antoine Bitozi , Remy Ncahinyeretse, Therese Bukuru and Francois Butoyi; and brother-in-law of Gerard Ndayiragije, Charles Karorero, Samwel Karonse many other siblings in Burundi and Uganda. Theodore will be dearly missed by his mother in-law Elivanie Minani. Cherished uncle of Parfait Nayigihugu, Sonia Gahimbare and Dr. Noce Nayigihugu. Theodore had a gentle and pure heart for God’s word. He was always ready to help others in every way possible, spurring them to live hardworking and selfless lives. He was a wonderful disciple and follower of Jesus Christ and a true friend to many. He was a generous man, and everyone spoke of his infectious smile.
Theodore was employed by Rockwell Trucking for many years and will be dearly missed by his many co-workers. He will also be missed by friends who knew him at Parkwood Gospel Church where he served as a deacon, and interpreted church services for his fellow-Burundians. He had many friends also at College Boreal where he was a former employee and student. Theodore’s name means – He who belongs to God. Indeed, he lived up to his name. One could say, he was like David, a man after God’s own heart. He brought so much joy into so many lives. He was very much loved and will be missed by many.
