Obituary of John Josephe Kelch

KELCH, John J. Passed away peacefully at The Village of Aspen Lake on December 21, 2016 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of 73 years to Louise (nee Rivait). Loving father to Victor (Barb), Alan (Helen), Catherine Weller (Robert). Adored Pepe to Todd (Cathie), Kelly, Jennifer (Kurt), Shawn (Tammy), Mike, and Jeff (Kelly). Great-Pepe to 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Katie, Pauline, Rudy, Carl and Leo. Dear brother in-law to Florence. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. John will be missed by his very good friends and neighbours of 47 years, Tom and Mary Jagatic, who were always there for mom and dad throughout the years. John retired from Chrysler Canada after 35 years as a hoisting engineer and was a proud member of CAW Local 444. He was a parishioner and Scout Master for many years at Most Precious Blood Church. He loved riding his bike in the neighbourhood and entertaining the children on his backyard trampoline. John enjoyed camping, traveling the world, sailing on his catamaran on Lake St. Clair and playing racquetball and tennis. He was known to many as the Birdman for building bird houses and selling them at the annual Chandler Rd. Street Sale. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at the Village of Aspen Lake. At John's request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
