Obituary of Richard Allan Hazlehurst

HAZLEHURST, Richard "Dick" February 23, 1934 - October 15, 2016 Passed away peacefully at home in Chatham, Ontario, on October 15, 2016, after a short illness, at the age of 82 years. Former resident of Windsor, Ontario. Beloved husband and best friend of Jeanette (nee Belinski) with whom he celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage. Loving father to Barbara Miliucci (Tony), Russell Hazlehurst (Ren"e), Roger Hazlehurst (Kelly), Ralph Hazlehurst, and Suzanne Brown. Cherished grandfather to 8 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Barry Hazlehurst (Margaret) and the late Frank Hazlehurst and surviving wife Georgette. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Richard retired from Chrysler Canada after 29 years of dedicated service, and was a member of Unifor Local 444. He also served with the Royal Canadian Air Force for 3 years. Dick enjoyed 24 years of retirement of which he traveled with Jeanette. He spent his time fishing and camping with family and friends, and being an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan......"Go Leafs Go". Friends will be received for visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 5 pm to 8 pm with a funeral service to celebrate Richard's life at 6:30 pm in the Chapel. Cremation to follow.
