Stric Vlado was a loving, kind man who was so good to me and my brother growing up. I will never forget all the wonderful memories when we visited him in Croatia and when he moved here to Canada and he lived with us. from playing the "shiba game", to listening to all the cool Croatian tunes coming out in the 80's, to swimming and tanning, some of us getting a bad sunburn..to just enjoying each other's company and joking around, or as Stric Vlado would say it "zaferkanja" I remember his laugh And voice and his little sayings only he could say so well, my favourite being "ma jok" He even bought the cool name brands at the time such as faded jeans and a Roots sweatshirt because That was the "in" thing and I was probably a pain in the but bugging him to buy it. This sweatshirt he maybe wore it once but said "Uzmi Elizabet, ja znam kolko ti Volis Roots" it was huge on me at the time but I was so proud to wear his big sweatshirt, he literally would give you the shirt off his back with his big heart. he was a strong man and fought his battle with cancer so hard and in the end he was weak and was called to the Lord. It's crazy to think my favourite two words of his were his last. Please know Strina, Mark and Michelle how deeply sorry I am for your loss, and I hope I was able to capture from a few of my little stories how much fun and special he was to me and my family. I know you have wonderful memories he created with you, cherish those and know he was so proud of you, loved you very much and is always with you. I love you all very much, my thoughts and prayers are with you. xoxoxo ~Elizabeth and family
