Obituary of Gerald Masse

Masse, Gerald "Gerry"

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gerald Masse, shares the news of his passing on Monday, August 31. He was 58 years old.
“You are loved, you are needed, you are understood”.
Gerry was a loving son, a loyal friend and a wonderful father. He was a San Francisco 49ers fan. He was a hard worker. He was stubborn, outgoing and warm. His generosity was well known on Lillian Ave amongst his neighbours and the many who met him over the years. He would literally break down the wall to help those he loved.
Gerry leaves behind his mother, Marjorie Masse, brothers Ronnie (Sharon), Randy (Ingrid) and Terry (Tracy) and sisters Sharon Fox and Marilyn (Jim) Verbeem. He is survived by his son, Jamie (Emily) and treasured grandchildren, Isaac and Maisie. He was predeceased by his father, Paul and his son, Curtis. He leaves a big family of nieces, nephews and cousins, and many close friends who might as well have been family.
Memories of Gerry will include food fights with his boys, his open heart and home, his trademark visor that accentuated the Masse family hairline, his love and dedication to his mother, sitting right next to the TV so he could watch the game and being quick to share a big laugh and an OV. Just sometimes he needed to be told more than once, but he was fundamentally a humble, loving and kind man.
He will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with his son on Shepherd Street entrance in Windsor, on Tuesday at 2:30pm.
Please note if you attend the inurnment on Tuesday masks must be worn by those in attendance.
The family looks forward to celebrating Gerry’s life with those who loved him when possible 2021. The family appreciates, without assumption, donations in lieu of flowers to Brentwood Recovery Home.
Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel Central, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234.
The family invites you to share your memories at www.windsorchapel.com
