Obituary of Luigia Rosa Gatti

Age 93. Luigia was a gentle, beloved soul who is now at peace. Predeceased by her devoted husband, Andrea Gatti (2004). She is survived by her loving children Laura (Mario) Aversa, Hugo (Sue), Larry (Leslie), Jim, and Aldo (Michel). Adored nonna of Shondell (Danny), Rosa Leigh (Joe), Damian (Denise), Anthony (Sarah) and Kathleen (Ben). Bisnonna (great-grandmother) of Dante, Tiana, Daniella, Ethan, Elise and Zavier. Dear sister of predeceased siblings: Maria (Giuseppe) Mazzon, Giuseppe (Ida) Fracassi, and Battista (Modesta) Fracassi. Dear sister-in-law of Beniamino (Giovanna) Gatti, and predeceased by: Antonio (Theresa) Gatti, Giuseppina (Giuseppe) Carnelos, Maria (Giacomo) Carnelos, Luigi (Ida) Gatti, Ilizabetta (Giorgio) Gallina, Umberto (Armida) Gatti, Anna (Vandi) Ferrari. Also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins. Luigia was a rare individual who knew her mother-in-law, Antonia Paladin (wife of Luigi Gatti) whom she loved dearly, before she knew her husband. This is a testament to Luigia's wisdom and grace. She lost her father Clemente Fracassi, at age 7 and her mother Carolina Presotto, at age 21. She joins them now in eternal peace. She will be remembered for her kindness, appreciation of beauty and unconditional love. We would also like to thank the staff of Dolce Vita Retirement Home and a special thanks to Hospice of Windsor for her tremendous care, to whom we are forever grateful. Family and friends are invited for visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (East Chapel) 519-253-7234, Corner of Banwell and Tecumseh on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Service will be held at 8:30am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from the Funeral Home to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave., Windsor) for Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Condolences for the family may be left at www.windsorchapel.com
