Obituary of Joseph "Joe" Hiel

HIEL, Joseph January 20, 1931 – August 31, 2020 Passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020 at 89 years old. Beloved Husband of the late Alma (2007) for over 55 years. Loving father of June (Alfonso) LoRe and Joseph (Michael). Proud Grandpa of Michele and Joseph LoRe. Born to the late Rene and Louise Hiel. Predeceased by his Cherished siblings Peter (Barbara), Rose (Gerard) Everaert, and William (Jackie). Joe will be missed by his best friends the late William and Mamie Dugdale. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe served in the Royal Canadian Airforce for 10 years, and later worked for Ford Motor Company for 25 years. A special thank you to Dr. Liang and staff, Dr. Chevalier at the Field Hospital for her care and compassion as well as the staff at Heron Terrace who treated Joe as part of their family. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, a good game of Euchre, and was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion but above all else, Joe’s pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E on Wednesday September 2, 2020 from 6-8pm. Visitation to continue Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd) from 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass at 11am.
