Obituary of Gertrude Irene Murray

Murray, Gertrude "Gracie" (Nee Haney) It is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gracie on April 21, 2016 at 96 years of age. Reunited with her loving husband James Murray with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Cherished mother of James Brooke Murray and the late Trudy Best. Adored Grandma of Shelley DiRisio and husband Rob, Michelle Baker and Great Grandma of Sydney and Samantha DiRisio. Survived by brother Doc Haney and wife Norma and predeceased by sisters Lucille, Alice and Kay and brothers Harold and Claude. She will also be remembered by special friend Bob and many nieces and nephews. Gracie along with her husband James were active members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 143, Air Force Club of Windsor and long-time parishioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Aspen Lake for all of your love, care and compassion given to Gracie. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East on Friday April 22, 2016 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Friday at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday April 23, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (4401 Mount Royal Drive) from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
