Obituary of Gerard Joseph Jeffrey

JEFFREY, Gerard "Jeff" Born September 20, 1927, Died March 23, 2016 Passed away in peace with family at Berkshire rest home on March 23, 2016. Predeceased by the love of his life Rosemary (nee Keczem). Loving Dad od Michael (Cheryl), and Catherine (of British Columbia). Adored Grandfather of Phoenix and Dylan (also of B.C.). Survived by brothers Lawrence and Ronald (Joanne), brother-in-law Ervin Keczem(Halen), sister-in-law Hilda Keczem, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Lawrence and Beatrice, sisters Patricia Brown, Joyce Samson. Jeff was born and raised in Windsor spending most of his life in the Ottawa Street area, he met and found the only love of his life being married for over 62 years to Rose, losing her just 5 months prior. Jeff briefly served in the US Services before working at Vernor"s Ginger Ale, and then at the Leland House hotel both in Detroit, and occasionally was a Taxi driver for Veteran"s Cab. His favorite pastimes were bowling, the sport of baseball, being a huge Detroit Tigers fan and listened to all the games on the radio with his wife. He also loved entertaining family and friends with his stunning magic tricks and was great at 8 ball. The later years in life he enjoyed watching the growth of his two grandchildren, whom he was very prouf to have. Our father was a kind, polite and very thankful man. We will surely miss him. Thanks to the staff on the 8th floor of the Berkshire Care Center, for taking care of our father the last two years, and thank to Dad"s special neighbors Muriel Sheff and Anna (Ukrainian Restaurant), for all their kindness over the years that they provided to both our parents (Jeff and Rose), who are now united together once again.
