My condolences to the family, SNJM''s and SNJM(A)''s at the loss of such a dear sister. Sorry I couldn''t attend the funeral but was there in spirit. I am so glad I had such a rewarding visit with Sr. Elizabeth Roberta when I visited with her at Devonshire a couple months ago. RIP

Thanks be to God for Sr Elizabeth who gave herself so completely to God in love for Him and His Holy Church. I was blessed to know her for many years in my youth during her service as a Sister of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary at St Gerard''s School in Detroit where she served as school principal. I also remember her from visits made along with my parents to Windsor in later years following my ordination to the priesthood. It was always a joy to visit with her and Sr Marie Louis and the other sisters. May God reward Sr. Elizabeth for her faithfulness and lead her to the eternal joy for which she was made.

My late wife and I both attended St Gerard School in Detroit through 1968 where we both met Sr Elizabeth Roberta. Barbara Ferguson and I married in 1966. Over the next seven years or so (and typically on Sunday afternoon) we would find Sr. Elizabeth visiting my mom and dad at their home on Annchester Road. I remember her as a genuine, caring, and religious woman who thoroughly enjoyed her school ministry. I''m sure my wife joined the Lord in greeting her as she entered into His Kingdom!!

My prayers are with Sr. Elizabeth''s family; both the Powers family and her religious family. I was priviliged to know her through one of her best childhood friends from Sampson street - Dorothy Duchene Ritchie. I kept in touch with her after my Aunt Dorothy''s death in 1981. We enjoyed many phone conversations and occasional visits when I happened to be in the Windsor area. I lost track of her when the Academy closed. How I wished I had known she was still in the Windsor area. God Bless Her!

Dear Pat, Mike, Anarita and Family. I loved your Aunt Bernice (My Sister Liz) so so very much.I Have such a void in my heart that will take a long long time to fill but i know in my heart she is having a party in Heaven with her Family!!!.I have not only been blessed by knowing her, and taking care of her for the last 26 years, but also being blessed with knowing her so, much beloved Family from Detroit who have been so good to me. What a blessing all around!!.

I attended St Gerards School in Detroit and had Sister Elizabeth as an 8th grade teacher in 1971/72. I have fond memories of her; she was strict, but loved her students! RIP
