Pignanelli, Albina It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother following a stoic battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Luigi & Angela Mele, daughter in law to Giovanni Battista & Angela Pignanelli. Wife of 57 years to Antonio Pignanelli. Cherished and dedicated Mother to Salvatore & the late Valerie, Angela & Dan Simone, Joanne & Dan Bosco, Gina & Frank Bonadonna, Giovanni Battista & Amanda and Isabel & Salvatore Mazzei. Inspirational & Devoted Nonna to Anne, John, Daniel, Danielle, Lauren, Pete, Johnny, Alex, Isabel, Filippo, Julia, Angelina, Antonio, Francesco, Marco and Mia. Bis Nonna to Carter, William & James. Sister of the late Maria & Salvatore Bonasso, Saverio & Lina Mele, Giovanni & Catarina Mele, the late Isabella & Frank Sciarotta, the late Giuseppe & Rosa Mele. Sister in law to the late Salvatore Pignanelli, Raffaella & Francesco Demarco. Special cousin to the late Francesco & Anna Biafora. Loved & adored by many nieces , nephews and cousins in Canada, USA & Italy. Sincerely special thank you to Dr. Elfiki, Lois, Antonella & Dr. Freeman (cancer clinic) you added comfort to each visit. To the most amazing nurse angels at CCAC and Bayshore Lori, Paula, Cathy and Angie you all ensured that her last days were peaceful and comfortable and a very heartfelt gratitude to Dr. J. Minardi for the special care, attention & home visits you provided our mom. Alba retired from General Motors in 2006, but was a wife, mother and nonna first and foremost devoting everyday to her family. She enjoyed and cherished her time with family and the peacefulness she found tending her flower and vegetable gardens. Alba created the most amazing memories for her children and passed on special traditions that will stay with them forever.Mama you have left us with memories more precious than gold. We thank you for showing and teaching us the true meaning of what family is and its unconditional love. A special thank you for the love you gave to each and every one of us, you made us feel special to you in our own way. You are the pure and true meaning of a MOTHER is. (corner of Banwell & Tecumseh) on Friday February 19, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Prayers Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 9:15 am from the funeral home then to St. Anne Church (Tecumseh) for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
