Obituary of William Leslie Vivian
With much sadness, yet grateful hearts for the wonderful memories, we share the news of the peaceful passing of Bill on February 10, 2016 at 90 years of age. Reunited with his beloved wife Lorraine (nee Jenkins, 2005) with whom they celebrated 57 years of marriage. Loving father of Lynne Scott (Tim), Laurie Osborne (Dennis) and Leslie Vivian. Proud grandfather of Jodi, Ashley (Scott), Lindsay (Court), Brendan, Kate, Holly (Chris) and Cassandra (Chephren), and great grandchildren Luke, Bryden, Ayden, and Maverick. Dear brother to Helen Skelding (the late Doug). Predeceased by parents Elsie and Robert Vivian. Bill will also be sadly missed by his companion and dance partner Burdette Wade. Bill was a WW2 Veteran and served in the RCAF #6 Bomber Command, stationed in Yorkshire England. He was one of the original members of the Air Force Club of Windsor serving on the entertainment committee for 14 years (now Legion 143) and a member of the Moose Lodge. Bill was also the founder of the Windsor Waterfront Brick Program. Bill was a dedicated employee of the Canadian Bridge Co. for 30 years and then Border City Wire and Shepherd Engineering Firm. At Bill"s request, Cremation has taken place. Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Friday February 26 from 6-9 pm with a Veterans service at 7:30pm. Friends and family are asked to gather at Victoria Memorial Cemetery on Saturday February 27, 2015 at 11:00 am for prayers and interment, followed by a celebration of life at Legion 143 (1570 Marentette Ave) from 12:00 to 2pm.
