Obituary of Anna Giacalone

GIACALONE, ANNA October 21, 1931-August 24, 2020 Peacefully on August 24, 2020 at Heron Terrace with her loving children by her side at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving husband Laureato (2012) . Loving mother of Antonio (Diane), Pierina (George) (the late Vladimir), Filippo (Christine), Josie (Jerry) and Mary (Rob). Cherished nonna of 12 grandchildren and bis nonna of 14 grandchildren, with one on the way and two great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Filippo (Jovanna), Jovanna (Tony), Antonia (the late Tom), Nicola (Pina), Armando (Antonia), Gasper (Rose), Josephine (the late Onofrio), and predeceased by her brother Nino (surviving wife Pina). A special thank you to the staff at Heron Terrace for all their loving care, support and compassion during mom’s stay. Anna was an avid poker player in her younger years and could be often found in her kitchen cooking a great meal for her family, knitting or sewing. Her greatest love was her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Avenue, 519-253-7234 on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020.
