It is with immense shock and incredible sadness that I learn of the passing of my friend John Winters. I worked with John for nearly a decade at his company, View Studio. Ive found John to be one of the kindest, most generous people Ive ever known. Having first met John in 1999, I was young and seeking to expand my CAD/engineering skills into the field of architecture. John brought me on-board and taught me about architecture, as I brought him up to speed with computers/technology. Through that time we became great friends and I learned a great many more lessons from him in regard to how to treat people, both in business and life in general. I can truly say that John Winters has made a profound impact on my life in a way that few people do during your lifetime. We had reconnected in recent months in regard to some projects, and I had been thinking as recently as this past week as to how I need to touch base with him. As such, the news of his passing has really blindsided me. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rick and the rest of the family in this difficult time. In my last conversation with him as we were catching up, John told short stories about Rick, phone conversations with his father, and a trip into Canada with his siblings. You were lights of his life, as I know he was of yours.
