Obituary of Diana Villalta

VILLALTA, Diana (nee Biasutti) Diana passed away peacefully on Monday December 28, 2015. She was born on January 14, 1930 in San Lorenzo, Friuli, Italy and moved to Windsor, Ontario in 1952. Diana is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Alfredo. Beloved mother to Dino & wife Tina. Wonderful nonna to Ericson, who has brought her endless joy and happiness. Diana is predeceased by her parents Rosa and Gioachino Biasutti and her brothers Ionio, Tony, Aldo and her sisters Alba and Luigia. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and the United States. Diana had gifted hands and worked with textiles for most of her life. As a young girl in war torn Italy, she wove fabric made of silk and wool. After immigrating to Canada she worked for many years as a talented seamstress in both the fashion and automotive industries (General Motors). Diana was also a long time member of the Giovanni Caboto Women"s Club. A prayer service and visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. then to St Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer"s Society of Windsor and Essex County or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. She was, and is, at peace. A woman of her strength and character will never be forgotten.
