Obituary of Jennie Nellie Wilk

WILK, Jennie Nellie (nee Przednowek) March 18, 1926 " November 5, 2015 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother on November 5, 2015 at the age of 89. Loving wife of 60 years to John (October 1, 2006). Cherished mother of Diana Robinson and husband John of Tecumseh, and Carol Ann Burgmann and husband Thomas of Mississauga. Dear daughter of Michael (1932) and Zuzanna Przednowek (2002). Beloved sister of Cassie Brown (Nowosielski) and the late Joseph Przednowek (1992). Devoted and proud Babcia to Jessica Westley (Charlie) and Tamsyn and Jocelyn Burgmann. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear relatives from Brantford/Dundas, Detroit, Vancouver and Poland. After 28 years of dedicated service as a billing clerk, Jennie retired from Bendix Eclipse Canada. Jennie will be remembered for her fashion, generous spirit, unconditional love and her proud, Polish heritage. After WWII, Jennie was a translator for Polish Canadian Veterans assisting them with job applications, US visas and other needs. She also translated Polish radio announcements for a U.S. Polish radio station where the announcer would sign off "..wishing Jancia (Jennie) a good day.." after every broadcast. Jennie's memory lives on in all those whose lives she touched. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Henry Fortuna, Paramed PSWs, VON, CCAC, nurses from Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus 8W, Hospice volunteers and the dedicated staff of Chateau Park for the exceptional care shown to Jennie and her family. Our sincere appreciation to Mom's neighbours for their many acts of kindness.
