Obituary of William Basil Kaschak
Kaschak, William (Bill) "Biggie" Passed away at his home on August 14, 2015 at 83 years of age. Dear husband of the late Eileen (nee Larsh). Loving father of Bill and wife Karen Kaschak. Cherished grandfather of Brett and Jordan Kaschak. Son of the late Peter and Katherine Kaschak. Survived by brothers Mike and wife Margaret, John and late wife Jeanne and predeceased by brothers Nick and late wife Pamela and Eddie. Special uncle of John, Jimmy, Gary, Kevin, Karen, Michael, Debbie and Shelley. Dear friend of Alice Brookbanks for many years. Fondly remembered by Eileen's children Ron Reaume, Carole Pitre and the late Randy Reaume. He will also be missed by his companion and dog Scooter. He was well known in the baseball community especially for his dedication to coaching Fastball and Little League baseball. Biggie was the last manager in Windsor to guide a Little League Major Team (Windsor South Canadians) to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1972. He had a special bond with The Metro Catering Fastball Teams in the 80"s and 90"s and was also a regular patron of the Moose Lodge, Chrymoto Club and Legion Branch 143. A special thank you to Dr. Karnik and Dr. Sorensen for your care and compassion. Also, thank you to neighbours Perry Badsen and Don Hull for always helping out in times of need. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Wednesday August 19, 2015 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday August 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. In memory of Bill, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to The Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
