Obituary of Pierina Irene Rovere

ROVERE, PIERINA IRENE (nee BETTOLO) Born January 8, 1929 in Padova, Italy. Passed away peacefully July 11, 2015 at the Sun Parlor Home, Leamington after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by her parents Romano and Maria, loving Husband Giuseppe (1967), brother Ottorino and sisters Agnes and Adele. Loving mother of Lorenzo (Linda), Roberto and Joey (Audra). Beloved sister to Pina (Italy) and Silvano (Toronto). Proud grandmother (Nonni) to Caity, Noah and Isaiah. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and co-workers and friends as an excellent seamstress and cook. She loved plants and always had a lovingly tended garden from which she picked vegetables and herbs for her cooking. Pierina was a member of the Caboto Club Women's Auxillary and worked many years in the coat check rooms of the club. She was a seamstress for Chuck Holmes Menswear and Rivard Cleaners. She worked many hours at home sewing to support her family. Her proudest achievement was raising her three boys and then helping to raise her granddaughter Caity. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Sun Parlor Home in Leamington, especially the wonderful staff on Two West for their exceptional care, compassion and kindness during her time there. We are also grateful to friends and family who regularly visited her and supported her over these last years. Arrangements have been entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-235-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County, or a charity of your choice.
