Obituary of Barbara Penezic

PENEZIC, Barica "Barbara" (nee Petrusa) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, with her family at her side, on May 15, 2015, at the age of 92. Born April 13, 1923 in Radina Vas, Vivodina, Croatia. Married to Lovro Crep in 1939 until his disappearance during post war duty (1945). Beloved wife of the late Luka Penezic (2005) for forty years. Loving mother to Lovro and wife Andjela Crep. Cherished Grandmother to Lovro and wife Deborah Crep, Zeljka and husband John Barcic, and Joe and wife Shelly Crep. Devoted Baka to Angela, Nicholas, Stefanie, Natalie, Chloe, and Chelsea. Predeceased by her parents Lovro and Barica Petrusa, and her siblings Joze Petrusa and Marica with husband John Draskovic. Dear Aunt to Marica and her late husband Jura Rudman, Franjo and wife Katica Kapusin, and Joze and wife Anica Kapusin. Maintained a close relationship with her late cousin Ana Petrusa and surviving husband Jura. Barica will also be fondly remembered by many more family and friends. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church, a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union and had been an active member of the Hrvatska Seljacka Stranka. A heartfelt thank you to the staff from Paramed, Bayshore, and CCAC, in particular her dear friend and nurse, Anna, to Dr. Schumacher and Dr. Pearce, and to the Staff at Hunter"s Pharmacy for their ongoing care. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel), 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church Building Fund or Sv. Juraj Church in Dojutrovica, Vivodina, Croatia.
