Obituary of Antonietta Casagrande

CASAGRANDE, Antonietta (nee Zanella) Daughter, sister, wife, mother, zia, santola, nonna and friend. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonietta of Cimetta, Italy on March 29, 2015. She was surrounded by family and felt the love of those near and far. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ettore, brother Francesco (Loredana) of Italy, children Anna LaPorte (Marc), Roberto Casagrande of Ottawa (Karine), Giovanna Rosati of Barrie (Dave) and Ettore Casagrande jr. (Beth), and grandchildren Sophia and Olivia LaPorte, Luca and Emile Casagrande, Tianna, Matteo and Rocco Rosati. Antonietta was a loving, compassionate and selfless woman who cared for those around her with a fierce loyalty. She was a proud active member of Trevisani nel Mondo, involved in the parents club at St. Peter and St. Anne's schools, member of the Baseline Euchre Club for many years and cherished her role as Nonna to many children. Thank you for the support from Dr. Steven Berecz, Dr.Quan and the staff at University Hospital - London, ON, the staff at Windsor Regional Cancer Center, St. Elizabeth caregivers, and Hospice of Windsor. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Prayers at 7 pm. Family and friends are requested to meet at St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Avenue) on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 for Funeral Mass at 11 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, Antonietta requested that donations be made in her name to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre Foundation.
