Obituary of George William Switzer

SWITZER, George William Passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on March 8, 2015 at the age of 67 years. Beloved Husband and best friend for 46 years of Elizabeth Evelyn Switzer (nee Betsy Mark). Loving father of Holly Elizabeth Switzer, and Naomi June McKay (Kevin). Cherished brother of Don Switzer (the late Violet) of Nova Scotia, Dorothy Lake (Arthur) of London, and Marjorie Chaney (Dave) of California. Brother-in-law of Doris Mark, and Garry Mark. Predeceased by his parents John Henry and Isabelle Caroline Switzer (nee Jackson). Also lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Eva Mark, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. George was very active and loved running. He was also quite the author who wrote a number of short stories. Most of all he loved his family and his faith in Jesus Christ has been his anchor throughout the years. George has been a faithful servant to God and was a Bible teacher for many years in his church. Like the Apostle Paul, today George can confidently declare in the presence of the Lord, "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). Memorial Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. Visitation will continue in the chapel on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Service to celebrate George"s life at 10:30 a.m. Donations made to Hospice Residential in memory of George are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
