Obituary of Gerard Ernest Beuglet

BEUGLET, Dr. Gerard ( Gerry) Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on February 6, 2015, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee O"Shea) for 52 years. Very proud father of Suzanne St. Louis ( Dr. Greg) Marc (Kaoru) Matthew (1965) Michelle Lightbody (Colin) Chris ( Janice). P"p" will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ryan, Andrew, Tyler "Tut", Zach, Jaden, Lexie, Lauren, Owen, Joel, Luke. Predeceased by parents Dr. Ernest (1983) and Marie (1990). Dearest brother of Pierre (1933), Jeanne Ryan ( Jack 2001) Charles (Dr. Catherine Cole 1989) Mariette Forberg (Charles). Brother in law to Norma O"Shea (Bill 1999), Arlene Appleman (Norman), Robert (1989). He was a practicing Optometrist for 55 years and served on many boards including New Beginnings, Teen Health Centre, Essex County District Health Council and Catholic Family Services. He often travelled to Northern Ontario examining eyes of First Nations People. At age 80 he continued riding his bike in the summer, and skiing in the winter. He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports, especially hockey and golf. He attended numerous hockey games over the years, as both spectator and coach. Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday , February 9, 2015 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9PM. Parish prayers Monday at 7:30PM. Everyone is invited to join the family on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 for funeral mass at 11:00AM at Good Shepherd Parish (St. Gregory Site) (13789 St. Gregory Rd.) Tecumseh , ON. Interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery, Tecumseh.
