Obituary of Stefica Zapcic
ZAPCIC, Stefica (nee Rados)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mama, Majka, Stara Majka, Stefica Zapcic, on July 23, 2020 at her home with her loving daughters by her side. Born in Dvoriste, Vivodina, Croatia on December 12, 1929. Devoted wife of the late Janko Zapcic (2008). Survived by daughters Marica Palajsa (Drago) of Windsor and Stefica Sajko (Ivan) of Oakville. Beloved Majka (Grandma) to Marina Marlovits (Ed), Heidi Palajsa, Cindy Tomic (Frano), Robert Palajsa (Diana), Jason Sajko (Jaclyn). Loving Stara Majka to Vienna, Matteus, Luka, Salina, Lucija and Marko. Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Jana Rados, her sisters Zora, Stanislava, Jane and brother Joze. Survived by sister Marica Bucar (Josip) of Cleveland and brother Ivan Rados (Ana) of Windsor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A. and Croatia. She was a retiree of Metropolitan Hospital and a proud member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Parish. Thanks to Dr. Voltic, Dr. Rukavina and the entire Hospice staff for their support and guidance while caring for Mama at home. Thanks also to nurses Dragica, Doug and Ambre from Paramed for their kind and gentle care. Also thanks to Stefica’s card group and all of our friends for always making her feel special.
Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 4 – 8 p.m. A private Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens . As an expression of sympathy and to honour Stefica’s life, donations may be made directly to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund (1701 Turner Rd., Windsor, Ontario N8W 3J9) or to the Charity of your choice.
