From time to time, I find myself searching for people from my past who positively contributed to or who influenced my life and my career. Dr. Kierkus was my professor at the University of Windsor. I looked him up and it was with sadness that I stumbled upon his obituary and I wanted to respectfully offer my condolences to his family. He was a brilliant man, yet humble, patient and approachable. May the legacy he left behind and the many, many happy memories provide comfort to his entire family. I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity to meet Dr. Kierkus and to have been privy to his numerous lectures and guidance through my fourth year project while studying mechanical engineering.
