Obituary of Lawrence William Damphouse

DAMPHOUSE, Lawrence "Larry" William September 27, 1922 - November 11, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence at 92 years of age. Beloved husband to the late Marie (nee Toutant) (1993). Loving father to Robert (Cheryll) Damphouse, Donna (late Ivo) Vazzoler, and Gary (Jessi) Damphouse. Treasured Grandfather to 7 grandchildren and Great-Grandfather to 9 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Eileen (John) St. Louis. Lawrence was born in Tilbury, Ontario and moved to Windsor in 1930. He attended Holy Rosary School. Lawrence served in WWII where he landed in France in 1944 with "A" Company, 1st Battalion of the Essex Scottish Regiment. Lawrence retired from Chrysler Canada in 1979 after 37 years of dedicated service and was a member of CAW Local 444. Our family would like to express a special thanks to nurse Diana with Paramed, Dr. Richard Tan, dads respirologist, and Jeffery Tutt with the inspiration program. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519.253.7234 on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Veterans Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee will be held at 7 pm. Funeral Services on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:30 am in the Chapel. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Windsor-Essex County Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
