So many happy memories shared, raising our children, vacations, dinners , baseball tournaments, births and passings. I have a couple of funny stories to share but one word comes to mind everytime I think of Danny " Cordoba" I don't know why but for some reason I just laugh at the thought of the that car and how exciting it was to see him in it. Anyone who knows Danny from that time will I am sure enjoy that memory. Special thank you Danny for not giving up on me , you held out your arms and pulled me in and said " you are still and will forever be part of my family" I will love you always and forever. Nan

Where to start...you and Darlene spoiled my girls as babies and guided them as they grew up. Now as teenagers they would still tell me to call every weekend so that we could have snacks and enjoy your company, even if the girls had to put up with watching the game. No one could watch a hockey game like Danny...knowing what would happen next before it actually happened...amazing! Vacations with great friends...so many laughs and great memories...even with little ears around. We are so proud to have spent so much time just hanging out. Danny was a great mentor to us all. He saw good in everyone. He will be missed dearly but still in our hearts. Love, Frank, Melanie, Kiana, and Alicia

Danny was a very valued member of our organization and his passing leaves a huge hole in all our hearts. While remaining a fierce competitor, he was a true gentleman on and off the field of play. I will miss his smile and his love of life. On behalf of the Windsor Chiefs Slopitch family, we send our love and prayers to Darlene and family and friends.

Anchor Danly will miss Dan's smile and attitude. He made many friends here as he did outside of his work life. His contributions to the safety program were appreciated over the years, especially the passion he put into being a forklift trainer and the terms he sat on the health and safety committee. We share in your loss and extend our sincerest condolences to all.

It seems like yesterday, even though it was years ago that we talked & played some hockey & shared some fun & got to know each other at least a little bit. I've spent the last several weeks thinking about you & are shared moments in life. I miss some of that more than I knew. God's blessings on the family, Gus Banfill

Darlene, Derek & DJ: I am writing to tell you (but I am sure you already know) that Danny was one of our angels on Earth. Just today, we heard someone go on and on about how Dan taught him to look at things in a different light; in a more calm and philosophical way. Danny the philosopher! He was so wise! I know with certainty that Wayne loved that about him and the calmness with which he approached certain "situations." (Wayne didn't seem to be the Blais born with the calmness - if there is such a "Blais" thing)... Danny was a beautiful soul, and I am blessed and honoured to have had him in my life, even if briefly. His smile was so easy to be around!! AND, I love Wayne so much, and a big part of him is wrapped up in his relationship with Danny - their growing up years, their raising boys years, their figuring out why the boys don't matter as much as the girls years (he still struggles with this). Wayne loved what Dan represented, and who wouldn't? Wayne always envied Dan too, for the life knowledge that he had. Wayne was the hot-head. Dan was the philosopher! He still had stuff to learn from Danny! Darlene (and boys), we hope that you will call us with whatever you need. We know you have a lot of family around you, but please know that we would like to be involved. Please keep us in the loop of your lives and call on us to help, join in, or drink wine. Love always and forever, Pam & Wayne

To Darlene, Derek and DJ, My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. We can't even look through our neighbourhoods anymore without seeing someone that has been affected by this terrible disease. He left us way too early, but as they always say, the good ones go first! I will always remember Danny's sarcastic sense of humour that he had. Whoever it was, wherever it was, he always had a way to make people smile. I fondly look back to the many discussions that we had over the years and his e-mails too.....and he always said or did something to make me smile. We are worse off in the community without him here, but he is in a place now where he is pain free. His legacy will continue to live for many years through the people that he touched! Again...my condolences to everyone. Pat
