Obituary of Katherine Pecnik

PECNIK, Katarina July 9, 1925 " August 23, 2014 It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Left to mourn are daughters Anne (Ivan), and Agatha (Wayne). Grandchildren Cynthia (Dan), Paul (Lisa), Eric (Diana), and Mark (Anouchka). Great grandchildren Madison, Ines, Saffron, Atticus, Montgomery, Kipling, Marisa, and Jack. Predeceased by her loving husband and partner in life Vlado (1998). Kata and her daughters followed Vlado to Canada in 1958 to be reunited with her mother Mary, who came to the United States in 1954. She spent a life time struggling to build a new life in Canada with Vlado and her girls. Sharing the love of home construction with Vlado, they built many homes in Windsor, as well as their dream vacation home in Florida, where they spent many happy winters. Kata enjoyed gardening, traveling, knitting, spending time with her family, and playing the accordion. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
