Obituary of Kathleen Lane

LANE Kathleen (nee Cork) Passed away peacefully on Sunday August 17, 2014 at the age of 103 years. Beloved wife of the late Cecil(1994). Dear Mother of Cyril "Cy" Lane and wife Jane of Windsor; Dorothy and husband Ronald Scholl of Pittsburgh, PA., David Lane of Davison, Michigan, and Alice "Fran" Harris, of Windsor. Dear grandmother of Aron Karlsen, Linda Rizza and husband Joe, Ronald Scholl and wife Kerry, Brian Andrews, Heather & Gilbert; Nicole & Melanie, Kathleen Hart and husband Anthony, and Todd Harris ll . Dear sister of Dorothy Barlow of Windsor, and her late husband Ray, and the late Regianld Cork. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in New Brunswick. Kathleen emigrated from Cheshire, England in 1930 at the age of 19 years, to work as a maid in the former Gordon House in Amherstburg (now part of the Fort Malden Historical site). Her working career culminated as head of the Dietary Department at Metropolitan Hospital. In recognition of her years spent at Gordon House, a "Celabratory Tea" was held in her honor in 1998. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519.253.7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East on Wednesday August 20, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service Thursday August 21, 2014 at 9:30 am from the Funeral Home, then to Most Precious Blood Church for funeral mass at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
