Obituary of Douglas Donald Marentette

MARENTETTE, Douglas Donald Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went home to his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 82 years of age. Beloved husband of 62 years of Julia (Julie). Loving and proud father of Robin Marie (Dr. Tim Guthrie), Rebecca Lynn (Becky) Lamb (Douglas (Bugsy)), Peter Douglas Marentette; son of Lena (1991) and Leo (1961). Loving grandfather of Kyle, Adam, Dane, Breanna, Shea and Darryn. Great grandfather of Tessa Mae. Dear brother of Lawrence, Stanley (Mary), Jean Trepanier (Wilfred), Orval (Joanne (2010)). Brother in-law of Rosemary (1997) and Cecil Sinasac (2004), Joseph Nantais (1984) and Geraldine (2002), Bill and Billie Nantais, Helen and Syl (2006) Janisse, John and Liz Nantais, Jim and Judy Nantais, Bernadette and Ed (2005) Heisler, Loretta (2010) and Ray (1979) Cadarette, Jean and Larry Desjarlais, Betty and Jim Grant, Cathy Meneguzzi and good friend Jean Derbyshire. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Doug worked for Chrysler Corp. as an engineer for 40 years. Doug was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers. Doug was a great family man and so proud of his children"s accomplishments. Our family would like to thank Daniel for his tender care for Doug , and Daisy for always bringing a chuckle to Doug. Thanks to Dr. Wayne Albus and Dr. Chao. Special thanks to the Respiratory Team of the 4th Floor North at Met. Hospital and Palliative Care at Malden Park. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday August 1, 2014 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish payers Friday at 4:30pm. Visitation to continue on Saturday August 2, 2014 at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St) from 9:00 am until Words of Remembrance at 9:45 am with a Mass to follow at 10:00 am. Celebrant Fr. Nelson Cabral. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Donations would be appreciated by Doug's family to Transition to Betterness or St. John Vianney- St. Vincent de Paul Society.
