BORRELLI, Elio
Born in San Ippolito, Cosenza, Italy on Jan 5, 1945. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving Husband, Father, Brother and Nonno on July 10, 2020 at WRH- MET campus, while surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband to Maria (nee Gaudio), with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. Cherished father to Frank (Julie) and Sonny (Melanie). Loving Nonno to Luca, Adrian, Nico, Cristian, Talia and Gemma. Predeceased by parents, Francesco and Orsola. Brother of Lidia DeRose (late Tony), Alba Gaudio (Domenic), Helen Battiati (late Pino), Joanna Borrelli and late Carlo Borrelli. Son-in-law to the late Francesco and Emilia Gaudio, brother-in-law to Teresa (Giuseppe) Calderaro. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and life long friend of Compare Mario Spagnuolo, and many, many others. Godfather and special friend to Linda and Robert DeRose. Elio immigrated to Canada in 1956 and was a proud Italian/Canadian, a retiree from Chrysler and owner of Borrelli Cellars. He was an avid fan of boxing, enjoyed hunting for wild mushrooms and loved to sing and dance. A sincere thanks to the entire ICU staff and a special thanks to Lorie.
